Veterans Workshop

The Rotary Club of Sugarmill Woods, in conjunction with the Citrus County Veterans Service Office, is planning a Veterans Workshop.  The workshop will be held at Southern Woods Golf Club on Monday, July 12th, at 1:00 p.m.  The workshop will be open to all Citrus County veterans.  Each veteran should bring their records of service and w-2, 1099R, and tax form for 2009.  If they don’t have all of these documents they should bring what they can.  If they cannot produce any of the documentation assistance may still be available. Don’t let a lack of documentation keep you from attending.  Citrus County Veterans Service Officers J.J. Kenney and Sam Dininno will be on hand to provide assistance.  They will provide a briefing on the services available and answer questions from the veterans in attendance.  If you are a veteran, even if you are receiving veterans benefits you need to attend to be updated on changes.  Those veterans who are not receiving benefits should attend to determine if they are missing out on benefits.

Here is a sales idea for use by any club:

  1. Pick out a group or organization which you like to assist in some fashion and offer to make the event a fundraiser for them as well or just offer them discounted tickets. This can work out well if your club usually supports the group in some way anyway.
  2. Upper deck Tickets cost $19, but $10 from each ticket sale goes to The Rotary Foundation in the purchaser’s name (or in the name of the Club). Helps with your EREY and your Club’s per capita annual giving record.
  3. If you offered your chosen group a cash rebate from your club of $7.00 for each ticket they purchased for $19, your club would be out of pocket $7.00 on each ticket; BUT your club would be getting $10 in PHF credits on each ticket!!! Adjust these numbers as you wish.

 Other ideas:

  • Use the Rays day as a club social. Make it unique in your own way. Maybe plan to get together before or after the game as a group or plan a meeting during the game at a certain concession area. Tailgating is allowed at the Trop!
  • Encourage club members to use the event as a fellowship event for their employees or co-workers.

The more tickets sold – the more funds raised for THE ROTARY FOUNDATION !!!! Let’s start selling!!

Order tickets through Eugene Beil. 12300 US Hwy 19 N; Hudson, FL 34667. (727-868-2306). Tickets must be prepaid.  ______________________________________________________________________________
